Drawmaha Poker

Drawmaha is a community and a split pot game that is a combination of Omaha, with a community board, and 5 Card draw. In Drawmaha, you have the opportunity to change up to all of your hole cards one time after the flop and it’s resulting betting round.

A hand begins with the first players clockwise from the dealer placing forced bets, known as blinds. Each player is dealt 5 hole cards. A round of betting occurs.

Starting with the first player clockwise from the blinds, each player has an opportunity to call (match) or raise (increase) the current bet, or fold and exit the hand.

When this betting round is complete, the flop comes: 3 community cards are dealt to the center of the table. Another round of betting occurs, starting with the first player clockwise from the dealer.

When this round is complete, you now have the chance to exchange up to all of five of your hole cards.

After all players have changed cards, the turn is placed, the fourth community card. This starts another round of betting, raising and folding.

When this round is complete, the river comes: 1 final community card is dealt to the center of the table. A final round of betting occurs. If two or more players remain in the hand, a showdown is held and the players’ hole cards are compared.

The pot is awarded to the best hands, or split in the event of a tie.

Remember that Drawmaha is a split pot game and is therefore always divided into two parts.

One half is awarded to the best Omaha hand, where the players use exactly two of their five hole cards to make a standard Omaha high hand, with the standard poker hand rankings.

The other half is awarded to the best 5 Card Draw hand which is just the best possible combination of your five hole cards according to standard hand rankings, 1 pair, 2 pair,3 of a kind etc.

Drawmaha is mostly played with Pot Limit, but we also offer Fixed Limit and No Limit tables.

Drawmaha Variations

Sviten Special

Sviten Special is a Drawmaha variant played using the standard Drawmaha rules shown above with one twist added to the round of draws. If you choose to only exchange one card, your replacement card will be dealt face up and visible to all players. You can choose to take this card or reject it. If you choose to reject this face up card it will be exchanged for one final card, dealt face down, which you are forced to accept.

Note: The name “Sviten” in Drawmaha is the original name of this game and is also the name of the Poker Club where the game was invented in Stockholm, summer of 2006.

Drawmaha 2-7

Drawmaha 2-7 is a Drawmaha variant played using the standard Drawmaha rules. The difference is that instead of half of the pot being awarded to the best 5 Card Draw high hand comprised of your hole cards, your 5 hole cards are used to make the best 2-7 Lowball hand using standard 2-7 Lowball hand rankings.

Drawmadugi

Drawmadugi is a Drawmaha variant played using the standard Drawmaha rules. The difference is that instead of half of the pot being awarded to the best 5 Card Draw high hand comprised of your hole cards, your 5 hole cards are used to make the best Badugi hand using the standard Badugi hand rankings.
