Drawmaha (Sviten) Poker
A community and split pot game similar to Omaha Poker
Drawmaha (Sviten) is a community and a split pot game that is similar to Omaha, with a community board, aiming to achieve the best 5 Card draw hand. In Drawmaha, you have the opportunity to change up to all cards one time in between rounds and flop
A hand begins with the first players clockwise from the dealer placing forced bets, known as blinds. Each player is dealt 5 hole cards. A round of betting occurs.
Starting with the first player clockwise from the blinds, each player has an opportunity to call (match) or raise (increase) the current bet, or fold and exit the hand.
When this betting round is complete, the flop comes: 3 community cards are dealt to the center of the table. Another round of betting occurs, starting with the first player clockwise from the dealer.
When this round is complete, you now have the chance to exchange up to all of your five cards. If you choose to only change one card, your first card will be open to all players and you can choose to take it or reject it. If that “One” card is not to your liking you will get another card face down and you are forced to take it.
After all players have changed cards, the turn is placed, the fourth community card.
This starts another round of betting, raising and folding.
When this round is complete, the river comes: 1 final community card is dealt to the center of the table. A final round of betting occurs. If two or more players remain in the hand, a showdown is held and the players’ hole cards are compared.
The pot is awarded to the best hands, or split in the event of a tie. Remember that Drawmaha is a split pot game and is therefore always divided into two parts. One is given to the best Omaha hand , where the players use two of his five cards to make an omaha hand, with the standard poker hand rankings. The other half is awarded to the best 5 Card Draw hand which is just the best possible combination of your five cards according to standard hand rankings, 1 pair, 2 pair,3 of a kind etc.
Drawmaha (Sviten) is mostly played with Pot Limit, but we offer both Pot Limit and Fixed Limit Games.
Note: The name “Sviten” in Drawmaha is the original name of this game and is also the name of the Poker Club where the game was invented in Stockholm, summer of 2006.
