SWC POKER BAD BEAT JACKPOT HIT FOR 4.8 BITCOIN ON JANUARY 15TH, 2025
SwC Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot of 4,802,027 μBTC (4.802027 BTC) was hit on January 15th, 2025! The hand took place at a 10/20 NL Hold’em 6-max Deep table where five fortunate players were dealt in on hand #247147919.
The hand began with players aab being dealt A♥K♣ and player Charlie4125 dealt Q♠J♠.
Preflop action saw Charlie4125 open raise from the cutoff and call a 3-bet from aab.
Charlie4125 led out with a bet of 100 on the flop of A♦ K♠ 5♥ . This was again followed by a raise by aab and a call from Charlie4125.
The turn brought the 10♠ giving Charlie4125 the Ace high straight against aab‘s Aces and Kings. Charlie4125 made a pot-sized bet which was called by aab. This left aab with 3 outs to win the chips in the pot and 1 out to win much more.
The Ace of Spades on the river improved Charlie4125‘s hand to a Royal Flush and gave aab Aces Full of Kings to trigger the jackpot!
For losing the hand with Aces Full of Kings aab won over 1,680,000 μBTC (1.68 BTC)! Charlie4125 took home the pot and a prize of over 960,000 μBTC (0.96 BTC) for winning the hand with a Royal Flush!
The other players at the table: Marwyn, Jennifer1997 and RiverCheeser each won over 240,000 μBTC (0.24 BTC) as their table share for being dealt in during the jackpot qualifying hand!
The Bad Beat Jackpot has been reseeded and is currently sitting at over 970,000 μBTC (0.97 BTC).
After the win Charlie4125 reached out to us in our Telegram channel and was kind enough to share some insight on how it felt to be a part of this historic hand.
SwC: Can you take us through the hand and describe what you felt after the river was dealt and the hands were revealed?
Charlie4125 (Flop): I had a gutter to broadway, so I decided to bet. I was thinking of folding when aab raised me by quite a lot, but I decided to throw in the call because I wanted to see another card.
(Turn): The Ten of Spades gave me the nut straight. I jumped with joy upon seeing that turn card as the pot was already massive and I was almost guaranteed a win.
At that point, I was praying that the river does not pair the board. I was also hoping that the river does not contain a spade because I would no longer have the nuts. I believed that aab either had the Ace of Spades, or a pocket pair, or Ace-King.
(River): At first glace I was horrified upon seeing an Ace on the river as it pairs the board, but then I immediately realized that it was the Ace of Spades, which means that I had a Royal Flush! I was now guaranteed to win the pot. At this point I was just hoping that my opponent had either pocket Aces or Ace-King so that we would win the Bad Beat Jackpot.
The fact that my opponent went all-in made me excited as that’s when I knew that aab likely had Ace-King or pocket Aces. I immediately flicked in the call and BAM! There was the Bad Beat Jackpot. I couldn’t believe my eyes, we had won the Bad Beat Jackpot!
SwC: How long have you been playing on SwC Poker? How did you hear about us?
Charlie4125: I have been playing on SwC Poker for roughly two months. While I’ve played thousands of hands on SwC, I am still relatively new to SwC compared to the regulars. In fact, I am still relatively new to poker as a whole. I have not played much poker in my life, and only have around one and a half years of poker experience.
I heard about SwC through Reddit, and decided to join due to the benefits of Bitcoin along with not needing the intrusive KYC requirements that other online poker sites require.
SwC: You mentioned that you have a YouTube channel. Can you tell us a little about that?
Charlie4125: Yes, my YouTube channel is Gaming with Charlie. To be honest, I haven’t really been active on YouTube lately because I have been quite busy with college and don’t have much time to produce videos.
Back in high school, I had been very active on YouTube producing Clash Royale videos, which was a very popular game back then. I also posted a lot of humor meme videos along with animations. My YouTube channel started to die down in 2022 so I decided to start experimenting with other types of videos including tutorial videos for physics and math.
While I’ve never made any poker-related videos before, I plan to post a Poker video to YouTube later this week or next week talking about my massive winnings on SwC. With this newfound fame, I will likely continue to upload more YouTube videos.
SwC: Do you have any plans on what you will do with the money?
Charlie4125: Yes definitely! My share of the Bad Beat Jackpot was worth roughly $95,000 USD which is an enormous amount of money. 95 grand is more than enough to buy a new Tesla car. I had been dreaming of driving a Tesla for a very long time. Actually, no, I wasn ’t dreaming of “driving” a Tesla, I dreamed of owning a Tesla and using its FSD-feature to drive itself. I had always wanted to own and ride a self-driving car, and thanks to the Bad Beat Jackpot, I am finally able to make this dream come true!
Besides buying a new Tesla, this money will also help me pay for college. I was already working three part-time jobs just to afford to pay for college, including one as a freelance math tutor. I also took 11 AP classes in high school to earn college credit so that I can graduate from college in 3 years instead of 4 to save money. Now, thanks to the Bad Beat Jackpot, I no longer have to worry about college tuition. This jackpot has drastically changed my life.
